Absolut Berlin joins city-inspired series

Absolut has unveiled the latest edition in its city-inspired series, Absolut Berlin.

Absolut Berlin will launch in Germany on 15 May 2014

The limited edition bottle features a “messy, anarchic, multimedia” design by Berlin-based designer Zhivago Duncan of the city’s Fernsehturm monument.

The design has been chosen to communicate Absolut’s “immense energy” and reputation as a “trailblazer in the arts”. It also features a Dick Flash quote printed in graffiti style: “Es ist nicht einfach immer ein Rebell zu sein” – “It’s not easy to always be a rebel”.

“Absolut Berlin is an homage to a multicultural and artistic mecca and to the people who fuel it with talent, ideas and energy,” said Franz Drack, global marketing director at Absolut.

”To capture the spirit of Berlin in the bottle design, Absolut turned to Zhivago Duncan, an artist whose work displays a dazzling energy and virtuosity. Painter, sculptor, mixed media and installation artist Zhivago Duncan is a true original.”

Absolut Berlin will be launched in Germany for a short period on 15 May, and will be available in Austria and Switzerland on 1 June.

Other cities featured in Absolut’s city-inspired series include Chicago, San Francisco, Moscow, Rio, London, Mexico, Istanbul, Miami, Brooklyn, Boston, Los Angeles, Vancouver and New Orleans.
