Rémy Cointreau suffers another resignation

Patrick Piana has left his post as CEO of Rémy Martin less than one month after Rémy Cointreau’s CEO announced his resignationIt has been officially announced today that Patrick Piana, CEO of Rémy Martin, would be leaving his post in a “career move”.
The news comes 20 days after Frédéric Pflanz, CEO of the parent group, Remy Cointreau, resigned for “personal reasons”, having spent only three months in the role.
Rémy Cointreau’s chairman François Hériard Dubreuil will now take up the role of CEO as a transitional measure.
A spokesperson for Rémy Cointreau said that Piana was resigning from his post to “pursue new horizons”, adding that he would be leaving at the end of this month and would be replaced “very shortly”.
The French drinks group received another blow this week after announcing an 18.3% decline in organic sales for Rémy Martin, blaming China’s crackdown on luxury spending.
