La Quintinye Vermouth Royal gets global launch

EWG Spirits & Wine is launching La Quintinye Vermouth Royal, a collection of three vermouths produced in Cognac.

La Quintinye Vermouth Royal has been produced by Jean Sébastien Robicquet, founder and master distiller at EWG Spirits & Wine

Taking its name from Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinye, botanist to King Louis XIV, the vermouth range consists of three varieties, each made from a blend of Pineau des Charentes fortified wine and white wines from the South West of France.

All three expressions, which have been crafted by Jean Sébastien Robicquet, founder and master distiller at EWG Spirits & Wine, feature a range of plants and spices, including Artemisia, vine flower, nutmeg, liquorice, angelica, and iris root.

La Quintinye Rouge features 28 herbs and spices and is a blend of white wine and red Pineau de Charentes with a caramel, burned vanilla and warm spice flavour.

La Quintinye Blanc is a blend of 18 botanicals, white wine and white Pineau des Charantes that gives the drinks a honeyed, citrus flavour.

La Quintinye Extra-Dry features 27 botanicals and has a tannic, dry mouthfeel with notes of citrus, anise and liquorice.

Pineau des Charantes is a fortified wine made from fresh grape juice and Cognac that is aged in French oak barrels for at least one year. White Pineau is made from white grape: Ugni Blanc, Colombard or Folle Blanche amongst others and matured for at least 12 months in French oak barrels. Red Pineau is made from red grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon and matured for at least eight months in French oak barrels.

All three La Quintinye varieties will be available in 750ml and 375ml formats with an RRP of £18.80 and £12.50 respectively.
