The Botanist Gin scoops Spirit of the Year award
By Amy HopkinsThe Whisky Exchange (TWE) has named The Botantist Gin its Fine Spirit of the Year 2013.
The Botanist Gin has scooped TWE’s Fine Spirit of the Year awardThe spirits retailer announced that The Botanist Gin, produced by Islay distillery Bruichladdich, which was acquired by Remy Cointreau last year, was considered its “overwhelming favourite” fine spirit.
TWE claimed that: “This cracking gin channels the inventive nature found in Bruichladdich whisky into the world of white spirits and a unique gin celebrating 22 of the 31 botanicals native to the island.”
The Botanist Gin is described as possessing a “rich and mellow” taste with notes of apple, mint, juniper, coriander and honey on the nose.
This recent accolade follows TWE’s announcement that Glenfarclas 15 Year Old has been crowned its Whisky of the Year 2013.
To celebrate The Botanist Gin’s win, TWE will be selling the spirit at a discounted price of £35.95 until the end of January.
