Brown-Forman appoints new production officer
Brown-Forman has appointed Alejandro (Alex) Alvarez as chief production officer, to succeed Jane Morreau who was promoted to CFO in November.
Alejandro Alvarez will adopt his new position with Brown-Forman in February
Alvarez, who will also become a part of the company’s executive leadership team, is currently general manager of operations at Casa Herradura in Jalisco, Mexico, as well as wine operations manager of Sonoma-Cutrer in California.
He will begin his new role as chief production officer on 1 February.
“Alex has the global experience and leadership capabilities to lead a world-class production operation such as Brown-Forman’s,” said Paul Varga, CEO of Brown-Forman.
Alvarez joined Brown-Forman in 2007 as director of Louisville Production Operations. Prior to his joining the company, he spent time managing operations at General Mills and Proctor & Gamble.
Morreau, who is currently serving as senior vice president and chief production officer, will step up to the position of chief financial officer on 31 January 2014 following the retirement of Don Berg.
