Short film promotes Johnnie Walker Blue Label

Johnnie Walker has created a short film to mark the release of its limited edition Blue Label bottle created by menswear designer Alfred Dunhill.

The film depicts a journey shared by craftsman Chris Tipper and explorer Jason Lewis, reflecting an imaginative journey of John Walker and Alfred Dunhill

Celebrating a Journey Shared charts a journey of craftsman Chris Tipper and explorer Jason Lewis, from London to the Scottish Highlands. The pair became firm friends when Tipper hand-built the paddleboat used by Lewis to circumnavigate the globe.

The short film is said to be representative of an imaginative shared journey of the Scotch brand’s founder John Walker and the creator of the design house Alfred Dunhill, who did not live during each other’s lifetime.

James Thompson, managing director for Global Reserve at brand-owners Diageo, said: “Created by two purveyors of British luxury, this limited edition collection is built on both brands’ shared values and pioneering heritage of quality craftsmanship.

“This film, with cues of luxury and masculine sophistication is our visual expression of this partnership and this collection.”

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label collection designed by Alfred Dunhill features a limited edition bottle and collector’s trunk displaying an image of a map in its interior, while its exterior is dressed in leather.

A website – celebratingajourneyshared.com – has also been created to showcase the limited edition range.

The latest Johnnie Walker marketing push follows a revamp of the brand’s Red Label bottle, both of which are part of a £7.2 million UK marketing injection by Diageo.
