Buffalo Trace reports record number of visitors

Buffalo Trace Distillery recorded its highest ever visitor numbers in 2016, attracting 170,587 whiskey fans – a 17% increase on the previous year.

Since 2010, the distillery has seen a 227% growth in visitation

Since 2010, the Frantfurt-based distillery has also seen a 227% growth in visitation.

“We continue to surprise even ourselves with the volume of guests we are welcoming weekly,” said Meredith Moody, marketing services director.

“We are already looking at additional ways to expand our Visitor Center which just went through an expansion last year, and we’re looking at adding another tour to join our current five complimentary tours already in place.”

Last year brought Buffalo Trace’s millionth visitor, and welcomed a US$200 million dollar investment in the site.

The distillery also uncovered its very own ‘Bourbon Pompeii’ after discovering early foundation and fermenting vats dating back to 1873.

Buffalo Trace plans to continue the momentum with the launch of a ‘Legends’ dinner series, followed by ‘Buffalo Love’ for Valentine’s Day.

“We’re excited about what the future holds for Buffalo Trace Distillery. We’ve definitely not resting on our laurels but looking for more and better ways to enhance the visitor experience,” added Moody.

Earlier this month, a proposed class action lawsuit in the New York federal court accuses Buffalo Trace Distillery of misleading customers regarding the age of its Old Charter Bourbon.
