Flor de Caña launches first white sipping rum

Nicaraguan rum brand Flor de Caña has moved into the white sipping rum category for the first time with its new release, Blanco Reserva 7.

Blanco Reserva 7 is Flor de Caña’s first super-premium white sipping rum

The super-premium variant, aged for seven years, also features the same packaging redesign introduced by the family-owned brand last summer.

“Flor de Caña’s new Blanco Reserva 7 will expand our consumer base by offering a super-premium white rum that provides a richer drinking experience,” said Robert Collins, managing director of Flor de Caña.

“The newest member of the award-winning Flor de Caña rum family, Blanco Reserva 7 complements our premiumisation strategy and continues to position Flor de Caña as a high-quality, slow-aged sipping rum.”

Now available in 40 countries across the globe, Flor de Caña claims to have seen year-on-year double digit growth over the past decade.

Bottled at 40% abv and with an RRP of US$25, Flor de Caña Blanco Reserva 7 is described as having a “creamy floral and vanilla” taste.

Flor de Caña boosted its super-premium portfolio in November last year with the release of its “crown jewel”, Flore de Caña 25.

Meanwhile, in February this year, the brand announced that UK drinks group William Grant & Sons would be distributing its portfolio in the US, ending its seven-year contract with Campari.
