Glenglassaugh 15 Years Old is available to purchase today (20 July) from The Whisky Exchange in the UK at an RRP of £85 (US$115) for 700ml.

The new release has been described as ‘a significant milestone for the brand, allowing consumers of the flagship 12-year-old an option to trade up in age.’

Glenglassaugh’s master blender, Rachel Barrie, said: “The 15 Years Old is a magnificent natural evolution, showing how our coastal location shapes the lush Glenglassaugh spirit over time. Creating this expression, I was inspired by time spent on the beach at Sandend Bay, while the sun sets over the North Sea.

“I’ve layered Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Spanish wine casks to give breathtaking and indulgent depth of flavour. Every sip offers the signature coastal character of Glenglassaugh, enveloped in a luxurious date, orange papaya and chocolate elixir.”

The new release is bottled at 46% ABV and is further said to be reminiscent of oranges, salted caramel, manuka honey, and coffee.

Adip Agrawal, brand director at Glenglassaugh, said: “Glenglassaugh is one of those malts which is truly a hidden jewel, perfect for single malt connoisseurs looking to add something unique to their collection. For me, the whisky from Glenglassaugh beautifully manages to capture the essence of its natural coastal surroundings in every drop.

“The 15-year-old brings complexity and richness with harmonious character, marking a significant milestone in the story of this reawakened coastal gem.”

Glenglassaugh 15 Years Old will roll out globally following its UK debut, with launches planned for North America later this month, select European markets from August, and Asia-Pacific from September.

Glenglassaugh Distillery in Banffshire in the Scottish Highlands was founded in 1875. It was purchased by US firm Brown-Forman in 2016 as part of a deal that also included Benriach and Glendronach distilleries.

The brand was relaunched in 2023 with a core range of three single malts. This was followed by the bottling of a 44-year-old single malt exclusively for Dubai duty free the following year.

In January 2025, Brown-Forman announced that it would be pausing production at Glenglassaugh and shifting to a ‘shared production model’ with Benriach distillery.
