Loch Lomond Group-owned Glen Scotia is set to host its own ‘mini’ version of the Campbeltown Malts Festival next month.

Glen Scotia’s Mini Malts Festival will take place at its new brand home, Loch Lomond Group’s recently opened Luss Distillery, in Dunbartonshire from 16-17 May.

With Luss Distillery’s location less than an hour from Glasgow, the festival is designed to be a more accessible alternative for anyone that can’t attend the larger Campbeltown Malts Festival, which is held from 18-23 May.

An annual fixture on the Scotch whisky calendar, Campbeltown Malts Festival welcomes thousands of visitors each year and is a showcase for the region’s distilleries, which includes Springbank and Glengyle along with Glen Scotia.

For its two-day event, Glen Scotia will turn Luss Distillery into a mini Campbeltown with a pop-up bar that offers drams of the brand’s 2026 Festival Edition bottling, as well as a selection of exclusive single cask releases from previous editions of the Malts Festival.

Master blender Ashley Smith, who selected the drams, said: “Glen Scotia has established itself on the global stage, but while our whisky is full of big character and big ambitions, our home and our people remain at the heart of everything we do, so it felt only right to offer a wee taste of the Campbeltown Malts Festival in our new Loch Lomond brand home.

“Across the two days, attendees will have the chance to explore this year’s Campbeltown Malts Festival limited edition whisky, meet our small team of big characters, and enjoy an exciting flavour of the main festival’s atmosphere.”

The two days will also feature two tastings sessions.

The first, titled ‘Deconstructed Campbeltown Malts Festival Release 2026′, explores the individual components of Glen Scotia’s annual limited edition festival release, while the second, titled ‘Big Campbeltown Character Tasting’, discovers the brand’s signature style through a guided tasting of its flagship 12-year-old-whisky.

Tickets for Glen Scotia’s Mini Malts Festival can be purchased on Luss Distillery’s website.

In other Campbeltown news, Witchburn Distillery is near completion and its owner Brave New Spirits has offered a 1% stake in the distillery priced at £300,000 (US$405,170).
