Duppy Share rum joins Charter Brands
By Miona MadsenCaribbean rum brand Duppy Share has teamed up with distributor partner Charter Brands to accelerate its international expansion.

Duppy Share joins the Charter Brands portfolio following the distributor’s merger with Scale Drinks earlier this month.
Scale Drinks was founded in 2019 by George MacNicol and Michael Campbell-Lamerton, who joined Charter Brands.
As its new distribution partner, Charter Brands will help promote Duppy Share’s Caribbean heritage and flavour profile in new markets worldwide, accelerating its international expansion as it aims to become ‘the world’s largest independent rum brand’.
Jack Orr-Ewing, CEO of Duppy Share, said: “We’re excited to partner with Charter Brands at this important stage of our growth. Their global reach and commercial expertise will allow us to scale strategically, strengthen our presence in existing territories and unlock new opportunities.
“Having built the UK’s largest independent rum brand over 10 years, Charter Brands gives us the ability to repeat that success on the global stage without diverting resources and focus away from our strategic home market.”
Duppy Share is already available in more than 30 markets worldwide and will utilise the distributor’s global infrastructure to expand its distribution network.
The partnership offers the Caribbean rum brand the opportunity to collaborate with Charter’s professional, experienced export team.
Charter Brands operates in more than 80 markets and works with over 125 distributors globally, with a proven track record of successfully building brands in key markets.
Matt Ashton-Melia, managing director at Charter Brands, explained: “Scale Drinks has done an excellent job in establishing the brand internationally and with the merger into Charter Brands, collectively we’re very excited by the challenge of taking Duppy to the next level, working with Jack, George and the team.
“I have long admired the brand and the loyal following Duppy has built over the previous decade.
“Jack and George have an excellent reputation in the industry, and it shows how far we’ve come as a business that they’ve entrusted Charter Brands with building that following overseas in the decade to come.”
Last year, Duppy Share launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £1 million (US$1.3m) for global expansion.
