Bacardi shakes up regional leadership team
By Nicola CarruthersIgnacio Del Valle will become regional president of Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) as part of a leadership reshuffle at Bacardi.

The world’s largest privately held spirits company has made several changes across leadership positions in a number of its key regions.
Del Valle, a 30-year veteran at Bacardi, is the current regional president for Europe, as well as LAC. Bacardi said his move to focus on LAC would ‘unlock the next phase of growth and drive even higher performance in a region filled with new opportunities and potential’.
Del Valle will see his Europe leadership position filled by Vijay Subramaniam, currently regional president for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) and global travel retail (GTR).
Subramaniam became president of AMEA in 2018, beginning his journey at Bacardi five years earlier as managing director of India.
Taking over Subramaniam’s position is Vinay Golikeri, who is the managing director of India and Southeast Asia.
Golikeri has spent more than two decades at Bacardi in commercial and marketing roles. For the past three-and-a-half years, he has been leading and growing top emerging markets, Bacardi said.
Golikeri now joins Del Valle and Subramaniam on the company’s global leadership team, reporting to CEO Mahesh Madhavan.
The GTR region continues to be led by managing director Leila Stansfield, who will report to Golikeri from 1 October.
An announcement on who will take on Golikeri’s current role will be revealed at a later time, Bacardi confirmed.
The internal moves are effective from 1 October 2026.
“We’re proud to appoint exceptional talent from within our organisation into these critical roles,” said Madhavan.
“They have built their careers with us – progressing from market-level roles to some of the most senior positions in the company – which speaks to both their individual achievements and the strength of our talent pipeline.
“Their appointments reflect not only their accomplishments, but also our deep belief in growing and advancing leadership from within our own teams.”
