Desi Daru and The May Fair rekindle for Holi

British-Indian brand Desi Daru Vodka is returning to The May Fair Bar in London for a second year of Holi festival celebrations.

As part of the hotel’s Travel Edition series, the vodka brand returns to the bar at The May Fair Hotel on Stratton Street for a week-long activation from 26 February to 4 March.

Throughout the week, guests are invited to explore the joyful, colourful celebration of a Hindu festival that symbolises love, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil.

The week will conclude with an exclusive Holi Soirée on the day of Holi, which this year falls on 4 March. The evening will feature colour, music, and limited edition cocktails made with Desi Daru.

Mohit Singh, founder of Desi Daru, shared: “Last year’s collaboration with May Fair Bar was something really special. The team there really understand the incredible attention to detail that helps elevate a premium experience.

“We knew we wanted to come back and create an experience that felt first-class yet culturally rooted. This year, we’ll be presenting not one, but three cocktails using our vodkas, and they are all astoundingly good. We can’t wait for the finale of the activation finishing on Holi, a perfect moment to celebrate.”

Pierpaolo Schirru, group head mixologist at Edwardian Hotels London, has created three cocktails inspired by the flavours and traditions of ancient India.

These are: Exuberance, featuring Desi Daru Alphonso Mango Vodka, spices, jaggery and fresh mango; Royal Malai Colada, pairing the brand’s Alphonso Mango Vodka with coconut, Rooh Afza, lime and black cardamom; and Iced Chai, combining Desi Daru Original Vodka, Masala Chai, spices and black pepper.

Each cocktail is available for £12 (US$16) throughout the week.

Schirru explained: “For me, the best cocktails tell you a story about a place. India has such an extraordinary depth of flavour and tradition to draw from, and working with Desi Daru made that process feel very natural – their vodkas genuinely carry the character and flavour of the country.

“These three cocktails each have their own personality and distinctive taste. I really want guests to close their eyes and feel like they’ve been transported. That’s what a great cocktail should do.”

Alongside its cocktail selection, the May Fair Bar will also offer a curated Indian street-food menu of small plates.

Reservations for the Holi celebration week are now open on the hotel bar’s website.

Over the past year, the B Corp-certified vodka brand has partnered with London restaurants and bars such as Bibi, Sushisamba, and Tayēr + Elementary.

Earlier this month, Desi Daru signed an exclusive distribution agreement in the UK with Speciality Brands, ending its almost two-year partnership with Nightcap Brands.
