Savoia celebrates aperitivo culture with anniversary campaign
By Miona MadsenItalSpirits-owned aperitivo brand Savoia is marking its fourth anniversary with a sustainable bar culture campaign called Spirit of Savoia.

The campaign celebrates the global movement of aperitivo culture and the individuals shaping its future.
This year, Spirit of Savoia emphasises sustainability, terroir, and authentic Italian craftsmanship, with a focus on two expressions: Rosso, a 14-month oak-aged Marsala wine aperitivo inspired by the Torino vermouth and Milan bitter traditions, and Orancio, a citrus-spice aperitivo made using orange wine methods.
Both vermouth-style aperitivos are made from Italian grapes, are 100% vegan, and are designed for Spritz, Americano, and Negroni-style drinks.
Aperitivo has emerged as a prominent trend in the beverage scene: emphasising lighter, culinary-focused drinks crafted for flavour without excess. According to Savoia, this approach fosters a deeper connection between bartenders and consumers, with a continued annual rise in popularity.
Spirit of Savoia embodies the aperitivo culture through a series of experiences across Italy, Europe, and the US, integrating modern bartending practices with Italy’s winemaking heritage.
Giuseppe Gallo, founder of Savoia, commented: “Four years in, Savoia has grown with a community of bartenders and drinkers who value genuine craftsmanship and natural products. Spirit of Savoia is born to reflect the true spirit of this brand, inspired by the unique terroir of Italy.
“From the coast of Sicily, throughout the canals of Venice, to Europe’s most creative bars, we are celebrating the people and the practices that make this culture so enduring.”
Activations
The anniversary program kicked off on the Amalfi Coast at the Anantara Grand Hotel di Amalfi, where New York bar Dante hosted an exclusive pop-up event on 23-24 September.
From the terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Roberto Bracco, the head bartender at Dante West Village, presented a menu of signature cocktails that fused Italian tradition with New York vitality, complemented by cicchetti made with fresh ingredients.
Notable cocktails included the Bergamot Garibaldi, made with Savoia Rosso and Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto; the Negroni Bianco, featuring Savoia Orancio; the Sbagliato in Costiera; and a Strawberry Bergamot Negroni. Each drink was crafted to showcase the ItalSpirits portfolio through a contemporary mixology perspective.
At the end of October, the Spirit of Savoia will embark on a five-city tour of Europe in collaboration with Barcelona’s Paradiso bar, which will cover locations in the UK, Italy, and Spain, combining trade masterclasses and guest bartending sessions. The tour builds on the discussions from the annual Paradiso Sustainability Summits.
The tour sessions will focus on practical sustainability measures for bars, including waste-smart preparation, ingredient upcycling, and energy stewardship. Additionally, there will be discussions on how aperitivo culture can evolve to include lighter, culinary-focused serves, all while maintaining flavour and theatricality.
