Gordon & MacPhail names Mark Geary CEO
By Miona MadsenScottish family-owned whisky company Gordon & MacPhail (G&M) has appointed Mark Geary, a former Edrington executive, as its new CEO.

Geary will take over as CEO of the company, succeeding Phillip White, who announced his departure in May of this year due to personal reasons.
Following White’s resignation, Geary took on the role of interim CEO of G&M.
The appointment follows the company’s completion of a multi-million-pound warehouse expansion at Benromach Distillery in Forres.
Geary commented: “Gordon & MacPhail is a company with an exceptional heritage and an ambitious vision for the future. I am excited to be joining the team at such a pivotal time and look forward to contributing my experience to help unlock growth opportunities for its brands on a global scale, while supporting the development of its talented people.”
As the new CEO, he will focus on driving international brand growth and enhancing the company’s commercial and marketing capabilities across its portfolio, which includes The Cairn and Benromach.
Geary has more than 25 years of experience in the global spirits industry, with expertise in leadership, brand strategy, and international sales and marketing.
His career includes senior roles during a 12-year stint at Edrington, where he led global marketing efforts, managed significant brand acquisitions, and developed commercial strategies across various markets.
Additionally, Geary has worked as a consultant, advising prominent drinks businesses on brand and business strategies to achieve sustainable growth and operational transformation.
Neil Urquhart, chair at Gordon & MacPhail, commented on Geary’s appointment: “His proven track record in developing global brands, combined with his experience leading multi-country teams and delivering strategic growth, makes him an ideal fit as we continue to expand our international footprint and invest in the long-term future of our business.
“I’m sure he will provide great leadership and support to our skilled and dedicated team as we deliver exceptional whiskies to our customers around the world.”
