Glendronach relaunches 21YO

After discontinuing its 21-year-old Parliament whisky last year, The Glendronach has revived the single malt with an ‘elevated’ design.

The new 21-year-old Glendronach is the first expression in the ultra-premium core range to debut the refreshed visual identity since the brand’s revamp in 2024.

The 2024 visual restaging followed Brown-Forman’s acquisition in 2016, representing a new chapter for the distillery and featuring upgraded packaging and a creative campaign led by Scottish-born photographer and director Rankin.

According to The Glendronach, the 21-year-old whisky has experienced only a design change, and the liquid has stayed the same.

Matured in a combination of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain, the single malt is bottled at 48% ABV with natural colour.

Rachel Barrie, the brand’s master blender, said: “The Glendronach Aged 21 Years is an elegant and sublime expression, defined by its exceptional balance and depth.

“The time-honoured maturation style using oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks reveals a symphony of richness and finesse, culminating in a long, lingering finish.

“On the nose, it opens with ripe autumn fruits, blackberries, and red plums, lifted by a touch of candied orange. The palate is a revelation: layers of fine Sherry and bitter chocolate sauce unfold over nutmeg and ginger-baked Victoria plum pudding, delivering both depth and indulgence.”

The Glendronach 21-year-old will debut this month (June), with wider global availability expected throughout the year. The suggested retail price for the single malt is £250 (US$339).

The brand will also reveal its 30-year-old and 40-year-old expressions in a new design later this year.
