Pisco Masters UK contest returns
By Miona MadsenAfter the inaugural Pisco Masters UK last year, trade organisation ProChile UK and bar consultancy Wet & Dry have teamed up again to host the cocktail competition this week.

Returning for its second consecutive year, the cocktail competition will be hosted at Rhum Tavern in Oxford Circus on 15 May, coinciding with the global celebration of Pisco Day.
Titled Pisco Origins: One Spirit, Endless Expressions – Cocktail Masters Competition, the 2025 edition invites participants to “step into the world of Chile’s iconic pisco, where centuries of tradition meet the creativity of modern mixology”.
The competition will challenge eight bartenders from the UK to create original pisco-based cocktails that ‘blend Chilean soul with British flair’.
Contestants must create an original cocktail using at least 35ml of Waqar Pisco and no more than six additional easily accessible ingredients.
Drinks will be judged on storytelling, flavour balance, creativity, appearance, and technical execution.
Alongside Waqar, three other piscos will have a presence at the event: Alto del Carmen, Aba, and Bauzá.
The winner will be awarded a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Chile, where they will have the chance to explore the pisco-producing regions of Atacama and Coquimbo.
Last year’s Pisco Masters UK was held at Trailer Happiness in London, where Vitek Melichar from London’s Arlington was crowned the winner.
Melichar, a 2025 competition judge, commented on his win last year: “Visiting Chile was an unforgettable experience — from the stunning landscapes to the deep history behind pisco. Tasting it at the source really showed me how high-quality and versatile it is. It’s a brilliant spirit to work with behind the bar.”
Alongside Melichar, the competition’s judging panel will include Hannah Lanfear, advocacy and content manager at Speciality Drinks, and Lauren Bowes, bars editor at The Spirit Business.
