Saigon Gin maker moves to new distillery
By Nicola CarruthersThe company behind Vietnamese brand Saigon Baigur Gin has shifted its operations to a bigger distillery in Ho Chi Minh City, doubling its production capacity.

District 9 Distilling Company launched Saigon Baigur Gin in 2020 as the ‘first’ gin from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
The company’s new site is located on the same road (Võ Văn Hát) as its previous facility, which has since closed.
The relocation to the newly built distillery will increase production capacity from approximately 15,000 nine-litre cases to 30,000, however there is room for further expansion.
District 9 Distilling plans to increase production to meet ‘growing domestic and international demand while continuing its mission to share Vietnam’s rich flavours and culture globally’.
The new site is said to feature streamlined workflows and improved infrastructure to maintain consistent quality.
It will also allow Saigon Baigur Gin to experiment with new botanicals and flavour profiles.
The facility has been designed to support distillery tours, giving visitors a deeper insight into the gin making process.
District 9 Distilling will also open Vietnam’s first gin school, alongside a tropical garden with an outdoor bar serving the brand’s signature cocktails.
The move coincides with the company’s fifth year in operation and comes amid ‘continued growth’ in both domestic and global markets.

“Our journey began with a passion for Vietnam, its botanicals, and flavours, and this new distillery reflects our commitment to innovation, quality, and adventure. We can’t wait to share what’s next with our fans.”
Saigon Baigur Gin is distributed in more than 50 countries worldwide, including Switzerland and Germany.
The gin is made with local botanicals such as Buddha’s hand (a citrus fruit), lotus flower, and black cardamom.
