1800 GuachiMonton arrives in the UK
By Miona MadsenProximo Spirits has brought its luxury añejo 1800 GuachiMonton Tequila, which was finished in orange liqueur casks, to the UK.

1800 GuachiMonton is the ‘first’ luxury añejo aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 months, married, and finished in orange Tequila liqueur casks.
After initially launching in March 2024 in select markets, the añejo Tequila has now entered the UK market.
The new expression is made with 100% Blue Weber agave, grown and matured between six to eight years, and sourced from a single estate in the lowlands regions of the Tequila Valley.
The harvested agave is cooked for 40 hours in masonry ovens and is distilled twice.
1800 GuachiMonton pays tribute to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Los Guachimontones in the Tequila Valley in Jalisco, Mexico.
The presentation of the release was inspired by the site’s pyramids and red clay soil.
Encased in a red ceramic trapezoidal bottle, the añejo packaging features a wooden cap influenced by the site’s circular ceremonial pyramids, which date back to the pre-Hispanic era.
To safeguard the site’s heritage, 1800 Tequila has pledged long-term support for the conservation of the UNESCO site, its museum, and the cultural, artistic, and educational initiatives associated with the area.

Alex Coronado, master distiller and head of production at 1800 Tequila, said: “1800 GuachiMonton not only represents the roots of Mexican tradition and culture but also Mexican terroir and ritual.
“A nod to the fragrant orange trees surrounding the pyramids of Los Guachimontones and our family-owned distillery, the liquid is inspired by the timeless ritual of plucking fresh oranges to garnish a glass of añejo. Its decadent and persistent orange citrus flavour profile provides a premium, modern twist to an already luxurious añejo tasting experience.”
1800 GuachiMonton is recommended neat, on the rocks, in a traditional cocktail such as an Old Fashioned, or paired with Mexican chocolate.
The expression is now available in the UK at Selfridges stores in London and Manchester, and Hedonism Wines, with other retailers to follow.
Offered at 40% ABV, 1800 GuachiMonton has a suggested retail price of £170 (US$224) for a 700ml bottle.
Earlier this year, the Tequila brand partnered with floral artist Mr Flower Fantastic to create a basketball sneaker-inspired decanter.
At The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2025, 1800 Tequila’s range was recognised with a Master, three Gold, and two Silver medals.
