Proximo Spirits-owned 1800 Tequila has partnered with floral artist Mr Flower Fantastic to create a basketball sneaker-inspired decanter.

Unveiled in time for the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star weekend 15-16 February, in San Francisco’s Chase Centre,  the limited edition luxury decanter is said to pay homage to the brand’s rich heritage and ethos.

The design by Mr Flower Fantastic from MFF Studio in New York, known for his sports-inspired flower arts, features elements and textures reminiscent of the 1800’s Cristalino Tequila bottle and the sharp edges of the agave plant.

The artist commented: “Working with 1800 Tequila was a deeply inspiring experience, as I was drawn to the story, culture, and passion behind the brand. The decanter itself began with an exploration of light, inspired by the refracted angles of the crystal bottle. The design also honours the agave plant’s striking, geometric beauty, reflecting nature’s precision in every curve.

“Beyond its aesthetic, the decanter is a conversation starter as art often sparks dialogue. My hope is that this project sparks conversation and takes people to places they hadn’t imagined before.”

The limited edition decanter will debut at the start of the All-Star weekend on Thursday, 13 February, in San Francisco.

The collaboration’s website will go live on the same day and the decanter will be available from 18 February for US$225 before tax and shipping, with each sale including a bottle of 1800 Cristalino Tequila.

More information about availability can be found on 1800 Tequila and Complex social media channels.

In November 2024, the Tequila partnered with former NBA star and 1800 Tequila brand ambassador Carmelo Anthony for a festive Cristalino-focused campaign.

Last month, 1800 Tequila unveiled its 12th edition of its Essential Artist Series, which celebrates the link between art and culture.
