Franklin & Sons releases apple and pear flavour

British premium mixer brand Franklin & Sons has expanded its range with an apple and pear-flavoured soft drink.

The new product combines ‘crisp apples and juicy pears’ with sparkling water, celebrating two quintessential British orchard fruits.

With orchard fruits rising in popularity in carbonated drinks, the flavour caters to consumer demand for premium, naturally-crafted soft drinks.

According to the brand, the launch was driven by ‘significant’ reported year-on-year growth in apple and pear flavour variants within the category.

Pear is seeing momentum, with a more than 36.84% increase in popularity, positioning it as a leading flavour according to the independent social and market research agency IFF.

The growing nostalgia for orchard fruits, especially apples (accounting for more than 7.96%), is driving the trend, with seasonality playing a key role in consumer preference, trending towards warmer months.

Franklin & Sons Orchard Apple & Pear is free from additives and was designed for both on-trade and off-trade. It is said to provide venues with an opportunity to drive trade-ups and enhance their drinks menus.

Lauren Edwards, brand manager at Franklin & Sons, said: “With apple and pear’s rising popularity as a seasonal favourite, our new launch not only meets evolving consumer demand but also demonstrates Franklin & Son’s reputation for delivering innovative, high-quality beverages. We’re excited to see it become a key addition to on-trade menus and retail offerings alike.

“The launch also marks a key milestone for Franklin & Sons as we unveil our brand refresh and new website. It’s an exciting time for the business as we position ourselves for our next phase of growth, backed by our expert team and a fresh new look that is underpinned by our pioneering spirit, which has driven the business for over a century.”

The new soft drink is now available on the brand’s website for £14 (US$18) in a 12-pack of 275ml bottles.

Last year, the mixer brand announced Elyse Von Ruinn as the winner of its first national cocktail competition, Flavour in Motion.
