Spirit Master: Palmaráe Gin Premier Cru

In the crowded gin market, Palmaráe Gin stands out with its Premier Cru expression and has earned an array of awards for its quality.

Most recently the gin was awarded a Master at The Gin Masters 2024 – First Tasting, when it was praised for its “complex citrussy and floral” notes, as well as its “gorgeous aroma”.

Despite its slightly higher ABV of 44%, the judges noted it had a “lovely balance” without an ethanol kick.

Palmaráe is the first brand from Spirit of the Oasis, which was founded by friends Olly Horner and Livio Bisterzo. The duo worked with master distiller Miko Abouaf to create their award-winning gin.

Palmaráe fuses French copper-pot-distilling techniques with Moroccan flavours. Its botanicals include Medjool dates, orange blossom, mint and salt harvested from the Atlas Mountains.

For added luxury, the gin is packaged in a cream ceramic bottle that honours the ceramic craftsmanship of North Africa. Consumers can also choose to have the bottle monogrammed and presented in a handmade leather case.

Palmaráe is also working towards a refilling scheme in a commitment to sustainability.

The brand is currently available in the UK and will soon launch in Marrakech and the Côte D’Azur region of France.

Palmaráe Gin Premier Cru retails for £65 (US$84) for a 700ml bottle. It is available from palmarae.com, Hedonism Wines, Hide, Maison Estelle, 1Hotel, Robuchon Group, Seabird, Louie and Gold, with further high-end luxury listings in the trade and select luxury retailers to follow in the UK, Marrakech and Côte d’Azur.
