Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky acquired the former Bank of Scotland site in Gordon Street, Huntly, in January 2022.

The company spent six months renovating the space of the B-listed property, transforming the venue into a bar with room to seat up to 50 guests.

The Club Room will be used for private-hire events, whisky tastings, and as extra space during busy period for The Bank Café & Restaurant in The Square, which is also owned by Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky. This establishment opened last year following an eight-month refurbishment.

Euan Shand, chairman of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, said: “We had ambitious plans to invest in some of the beautiful old buildings that lay empty and disused in the heart of the town, bringing them back to life, whilst also helping put Huntly on the map as a great place to eat and drink.

“Together with our Whiskies of Scotland shop in Gordon Street, The Bank Café & Restaurant, and now the latest opening of The Club Room in the town centre, it’s an important focal point for locals and tourists visiting the area.

“We’re proud to be part of the transformation of the town, boosting the local economy and of course creating further employment in the area alongside our King Street headquarters.”

The Club Room will also promote the Scotch whisky company’s selection of whiskies, which are available in more than 60 countries.

Recently, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky launched self-serve cask dispensers with a range of its Octaves, and Black Bull blends.

In March this year, the Scotch whisky company unveiled a 55-year-old expression.
