Real Drinks Group gains ‘substantial’ funding
By Melita KielyUK-based distributor Real Drinks Group has secured ‘substantial’ funding from Independent Growth Finance (IGF) to pursue its expansion plans.

The distribution company will use the funding to reach new retailers across the UK and grow the portfolio of producers on its roster.
Nick Dolan founded Real Drinks Group in 2005. Based in Middlesex, England, the company works with spirits producers, breweries, pre-mixed drinks companies and vineyards, supplying retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and M&S.
Jon Hughes, director at IGF, said: “Real Drinks Group provide an important service in the retail supply chain, they are a valuable partner for both suppliers and customers. An ambitious business, with a passion for championing exciting products.
“The business is well placed to become a huge player in the management and distribution of drinks in the craft segment. IGF provided a facility that was carefully tailored to the business’ unique needs, and which will be used to propel their growth and open up new sales channels.”
In other funding news, earlier this month Caribbean rum liqueur brand Tobago Gold received financial backing from two businessmen.
Meanwhile, Dunrobin Distilleries received a CA$5.5 million (US$4.3m) investment from Swiss company Seven Seals Innovation to enable both firms to expand globally.
