Glen Moray introduces Elgin Heritage Collection
By Kristiane SherryLa Martiniquaise-owned single malt Scotch Glen Moray has released the Elgin Heritage Collection comprising a trio of 12-year-old, 15-year-old and 18-year-old expressions.
Said to “encapsulate affordable luxury”, the range references the town of Elgin where the Glen Moray distillery is located.
Glen Moray Elgin Heritage 12 Year Old has been matured in American oak casks and offers nosing and tasting notes of “vanilla toffee”, “juicy berry fruits”, “aromatic fresh-cut herbs” and “toastiness”.
The 15-year-old expression includes liquid matured in both American oak and ex-Sherry casks for “a hint of spice that boasts heavy dried fruits and rich dark chocolate”.
Completing the line-up, the 18-year-old released has been matured in American Oak casks with given nosing and tasting notes of “toasted oak”, “treacle toffee”, “caramelised autumn fruits”, “spiced backed apple” and “vanilla smoked raisins”.
“Glen Moray’s Elgin Heritage Collection has been carefully matured to create a smooth, sweet character combined with subtle oak flavours,” said Graham Coull, Glen Moray master distiller.
“Our unique Speyside climate gently influences these whiskies to produce a well-rounded character and complex finish.”
Brand manager Raphaele Delerue added: “With our Elgin Heritage Collection, we aim to create an accessible slice of luxury that doesn’t need to be saved for special occasions – it’s there to be savoured and enjoyed.
“Our whisky encompasses nearly 120 years of expertise honed at our distillery in the heart of Speyside where there’s an immense pride in the integrity of the brand.”
The Glen Moray distillery was founded in 1897 and commissioned its site expansion earlier this year.
