Brown-Forman launches Coopers’ Craft Bourbon

Brown-Forman has officially launched its new Coopers’ Craft Bourbon brand – which “celebrates the important role of coopers” in whiskey making.

Coopers’ Craft is Brown-Forman’s first new Bourbon brand in 20 years

Available in eight select markets from this month, Coopers’ Craft was first unveiled in April this year and is Brown-Forman’s first new Bourbon brand in 20 years.

The brand pays homage to coopers, claiming more than 50% of Bourbon’s flavour comes from the ageing process in oak barrels.

Coopers’ Craft is matured in barrels created at the Brown-Forman Cooperage and is filtered using a special beech and birch charcoal filter finishing process.

The Bourbon also marks the company’s position as “the only major distiller that owns its own new barrel cooperage”, which was first established in 1945.

“Coopers’ Craft is a special new Bourbon that celebrates 70 years and counting of barrel making history,” said Heather Howell, director of emerging brands for Brown-Forman. “This is a Bourbon that can only be made by one of the oldest, leading whiskey makers in the world because what matters most, we do ourselves.”

Bottled at 41% abv, Coopers’ Craft will also be available beginning this summer in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee at an RRP of US$28.99.
