Brown-Forman launches Coopers’ Craft Bourbon

Brown-Forman has launched its first new Bourbon brand in 20 years – Coopers’ Craft, described as a “celebration of barrel-making”.

Coopers’ Craft is Brown-Forman’s first new Bourbon brand in 20 years

Available in select markets this summer, Coopers’ Craft is matured in barrels created at the Brown-Forman Cooperage and is filtered using a special beech and birch charcoal filter finishing process.

The Bourbon also marks the company’s position as “the only major distiller that owns its own new barrel cooperage”, which was first established in 1945.

“Coopers’ Craft is the result of decades of experience in mastering barrel-making and maturation techniques to create truly unique Bourbons,” said Lawson Whiting, executive vice president and chief brands & strategy officer for Brown-Forman Brands.

“Owning our cooperage is a testament to this expertise and brings to life the notion that what matters most, we do ourselves.”

Coopers’ Craft (41% abv) will initially be available in the US states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee at an RRP of US$28.99.

Brown-Forman is currently building a new distillery for its Old Forester Bourbon brand in Louisville, Kentucky, however the opening of the site has been delayed due a nearby fire on Whiskey Row.
