Investment firm Darco Capital has acquired American Harvest Vodka and Beach Whiskey, which will be managed by the newly-launched 1776 Spirits Company.

The newly formed 1776 Spirits Company has acquired American Harvest vodka

Founded by entrepreneur and investor David Adelman, Darco Capital bought American Harvest Vodka and Beach Whiskey for an undisclosed sum.

The spirit brands will now be a part of1776 Spirits Company, which will provide the infrastructure and resources required to market the spirits, facilitate distribution expansion and develop new variants for both brands.

Rebecca Running will serve as CEO of 1776 Spirits. Running has more than 30 years of distributor management experience, most recently working as president and general manager for Los Santo International. She also previously held positions with Young’s Holdings and Moët Hennessy USA.

Running said: “American Harvest Vodka is poised to appeal to today’s market of thoughtful, value-driven individuals. I see this fully American-made, award-winning, USDA-certified organic spirit that can compete strongly with other American vodka incumbents and attract consumers with its distinctly smooth and silky profile that finishes with a crisp, clean taste.

“Meanwhile, Beach Whiskey will attract a younger demographic that’s culturally diverse, female-forward, and passionate about an active outdoors lifestyle, and provide them with a product that’s the perfect complement to day time and night time drinking experiences.”

American Harvest is an organic vodka produced in Idaho using Rocky Mountain wheat. The company has plans to add five flavoured seltzers to the brand’s portfolio in 2021, including a mango and lime-flavoured variant.

Beach Whiskey is available in Island Coconut and Bonfire Cinnamon flavours. The flavoured whiskey is said to be best enjoyed on its own or mixed in cocktails.

Following the acquisition, the two brands will be supported throughout the year with national marketing platforms, merchandising opportunities and partnerships with monthly subscription services.
