Aberfeldy adds 19-year-old to Exceptional Cask Series

Bacardi Global Travel Retail (GTR) has partnered with Dubai Duty Free to launch a limited edition Aberfeldy 19-year-old single malt Scotch whisky as part of its Exceptional Cask Series.

Only 3,210 bottles of Aberfeldy Exceptional Cask 19 Year Old Sherry Finish have been released

The small batch release was chosen by malt master Stephanie McLeod and was blended from four Aberfeldy casks.

One component of the blend was aged in an ex-Sherry cask, while the other three liquids spent 15 years in refill casks before being transferred into oloroso Sherry casks for a further four years of maturation.

Aberfeldy Exceptional Cask 19 Year Old Sherry Finish will be available from November in 13 Dubai Duty Free stores across Dubai International Airport.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the whisky will retail for US$150 (AED540). Only 3,210 bottles have been created.

Tasting notes include soft fruits, toasted cereals and honey aromas.

Sandeep Chugh, regional manager, Middle East and Africa, Bacardi GTR, said: “The Aberfeldy Exceptional Cask 19 Year Old Sherry Finish is a truly remarkable addition to the Exceptional Cask Series and we are delighted to partner with Dubai Duty Free in bringing this limited edition to DXB [Dubai International Airport].

“The Exceptional Cask Series, inaugurated in May 2018, has injected prestige and credibility, helping make travel retail and essential destination for those seeking award-winning quality, aged heritage and rarity among the world’s very best aged Scotch whiskies.

“Over the past year to 18 months, the powerful surge by Aberfeldy in sales across Europe and Asia has demonstrated the brand’s exceptional ability to innovate with new launches that engage and convince the sophisticated whisky shopper and I am confident that the launch of Aberfeldy Exceptional Cask 19 Year Old Sherry Finish at Dubai Duty Free will further consolidate that success.”

The Exceptional Cask Series comprises limited edition special finished of aged single malts from distilleries Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie, Royal Brachla and Glen Deveron.
