Nine Master medals were awarded during this year’s Rum and Cachaça Masters

Perfect for summer outdoor occasions, the classic Daiquiri is a straightforward cocktail made with rum, lime juice and simple syrup.

During this year’s Rum and Cachaça Masters held at The Rum Kitchen Carnaby in London, judges tasted expressions in categories spanning overproof, agricole, ultra­-premium and more.

Master medallist Plantation Original Dark impressed with its “pot still, spicy character” and “balanced sweet notes” in the Dark Rum – Premium round.

The expression was one of nine rums to grab the top accolade during the blind-tasting competition, assessed by a panel of independent experts and chaired by The Spirits Business.

Produced by Maison Ferrand, Plantation Original Dark is a blend of rums from Barbados and Jamaica, and has been designed to be more approachable and suitable for use in cocktails.
