Jigger Beaker Glass returns to UK with new themes

Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB) has launched the third instalment of its Jigger Beaker Glass on-trade programme in the UK, which will focus on the themes of creativity, hospitality and productivity.

Jigger Beaker Glass 3.0 will visit eight cities across the UK

Returning for its third year, Jigger Beaker Glass 3.0 will host eight events across the UK in 2019 and 2020.

This year, Jigger Beaker Glass will head to Liverpool on 18 June, Edinburgh on 23 July, Manchester on 13 August, Bristol on 17 September and Glasgow on 19 November. The tour will also take in London, Leeds and Belfast in early 2020.

The programme saw a 130% increase in attendance last year, when it returned to the UK with an “all-new format”.

Jigger Beaker Glass will host “thought-provoking” presentations and interactive sessions “designed to challenge perceptions and inspire practical changes that will transform the customer experience”.

Following the original core three pillars – Jigger, skills; Beaker, innovation; Glass, drinks – this year’s Jigger Beaker Glass will focus on three topics.

Instead of the usual panel format, the sessions will be split into three rooms: the ‘Jigger’ room where brand ambassadors will explore the skill and theory behind the topic, the ‘Beaker’ room where guest speakers will offer a unique perspective on the topic, and the ‘Glass’ room, which will focus on drinks interaction.

Kicking off in Liverpool next month, the first event, ‘Creativity’, will be hosted by Joe Schofield, formerly of The Tippling Club in Singapore and The Savoy’s American Bar in London. Schofield is due to open his eponymous bar Schofield’s in
Manchester this year.

The following months will see the tour cover ‘Hospitality’ with
Paul Johnson of Annabel’s and Chiltern
Firehouse, and ‘Productivity’ with bartender Joe Stokoe, founder of Heads, Hearts & Tails, and Joseph Hall, head bartender of east London venue Satan’s Whiskers.

Shervene Shahbazkhani, BBFB’s head of brand advocacy – UK, said: “We’re back with our new programme and host of industry luminaries, and we’re ready to get out there to meet, engage, educate and learn from our peers in the industry who keep the bar world ticking day to day.

“Our aim with Jigger Beaker Glass continues to be to transform the industry and tackle issues that are relevant to the here and now.”
