Jigger Beaker Glass returns to UK with new format

Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB) is bringing its Jigger Beaker Glass on-trade programme back to the UK, featuring live panel discussions with leading bartenders.

The Jigger Beaker Glass programme aims to “educate and inspire” bartenders across the UK

Jigger Beaker Glass 2.0 returns to the UK with an “all-new format” for its tour of eight events.

The educational programme witnessed “unparalleled success” in 2017, with a 400% visitor increase compared with the previous year.

Following the original core three pillars – Jigger, skills; Beaker, innovation; Glass, drinks – this year’s Jigger Beaker Glass will focus on three topics.

Each event will be hosted as a live panel discussion to create a “more engaging and immersive experience” for the audience.

Kicking off in Glasgow on 21 May, the first event, ‘The Future of Mixed Drinks’, will be held by Artesian’s Remy Savage, Craig Harper from Fever-Tree, The Curious Bartender author Tristan Stephenson and DrinkUp.London’s Jane Ryan.

The discussion will look at a study of carbonation, include a debate on past drinks consumption, and look at current and future trends.

On 26 June in Liverpool, ‘Sustainability: Cut the Crap’ will be hosted by the Super Lyan team and Simon Difford of Difford’s Guide.

‘The Science of Flavour’ will be held by Rebecca Sides, Chris Moore and Greg Almeida on 28 August in Manchester and 25 September in Edinburgh.

Shervene Shahbazkhani, head of brand advocacy – UK, Bacardi Brown-Forman, said: “Our ambition with Jigger Beaker Glass is to continually adapt, evolve and drive the industry forward whilst showcasing the incredible agility, passion and ambition behind the BBFB advocacy team.

“In such a fast-paced global community, education is more important than ever and we are truly committed to creating a better industry culture for all. We’re looking forward to seeing what comes from this year’s tour.”
