NB launches Refill Saturday initiative

Scottish spirits producer NB Distillery has launched a scheme that allows customers to refill empty bottles of its gin and vodka for a discounted price.

Imbibers can refill empty bottles of NB gin, vodka and rum at the distillery in East Lothian

NB Distillery has launched the Refill Saturday scheme, which will take place on the first Saturday of every month and will allow drinkers to bring along their empty NB bottles to be refilled.

In a post on its Facebook page, NB said the scheme would allow drinkers to “save money and reduce waste”.

NB Distillery, which opened the doors to its site in East Lothian last year, will offer refills of its classic gin and vodka for £30 (US$39), its navy strength bottles for £40 (US$52), NB Samphire Gin for £41 (US$54) and its rum expressions can be filled for £30 (US$39).

NB gin and vodka carries an RRP of £32.50 (US$42), while the full price of its navy strength gin is £45 (US$59), its samphire gin is priced at £46 (US$60) and its rum portfolio is available for £35 (US$46).

The initiative is the latest move from the brand to reduce its impact on the environment. The East Lothian is said to be ‘energy neutral’, with solar panels powering lights and heating, and a plan to capture rainwater to use in the condensation process of production.

Founded by Steve and Vivienne Muir, NB Distillery recently announced it is set to broaden its availability in the US by launching in 20 states.
