Proximo Spirits names Michael Keyes CEO
Jose Cuervo distributor Proximo Spirits has hired former Brown-Forman executive Michael Keyes as its new CEO.
Proximo Spirits is the US operating subsidiary of Jose Cuervo owner Becle
Keyes joined Jack Daniel’s producer Brown-Forman in 1991 and most recently worked as the firm’s chief corporate affairs officer.
He now takes over from Mark Teasdale, who stepped down as CEO of Proximo Spirits in July last year to join Bigger & Leith.
Proximo Spirits is the US operating subsidiary of Mexican drinks firm Becle, the world’s largest producer of Tequila and owner of the Jose Cuervo brand.
Juan Domingo Beckmann, CEO of Becle, said: “Michael Keyes is a proven leader with the right skills and experience to head the group’s business efforts in the United States and Canada.”
In Becle’s most recent financial statement, the group revealed its third quarter net sales increased by 11.1%, but operating profit fell almost 25%.
