Teeling appoints Maverick Drinks UK distributor
Irish whiskey distillery Teeling has agreed an exclusive distribution deal with Maverick Drinks in the UK.
Maverick Drinks has signed a deal with Teeling to be the Irish whiskey maker’s exclusive UK distributor from 2019
Effective from 1 January 2019, Maverick Drinks will be responsible for the distribution of Teeling’s range of Irish whiskeys, including its Small Batch Whiskey finished in Central American rum casks, Teeling Single Grain and Teeling Single Malt.
Michael Vachon, head of brand development at Maverick Drinks, said: “Teeling is exactly the kind of brand we are always looking for.
“It has everything – great design, extraordinary value, wonderful people, a real link to the community and delicious, award-winning liquid. We’re excited to have them as partners and proud to have them as friends.”
The Maverick Drinks portfolio includes brands such as Ableforth’s, Balcones, Drinks by the Dram, Few Spirits, Kyrö Distillery Company, Mr Lyan, Smooth Ambler, That Boutique-y Gin Company, That Boutique-y Rum Company and That Boutique-y Whisky Company, to name just a selection.
Back in October, Teeling released the first commercial bottling from its Dublin distillery – a single pot still whiskey that marks the revival of distilling in the city.
The brand also brought out 500 bottles of a 30-year-old single malt as part of its Vintage Reserve Collection.
Last month, the distillery filled its 10,000th cask of whiskey in Dublin.
