London pop-up creates Instagram’s favourite cocktail menu

Following its launch last month, the Twisted Bar Pop-Up in east London has unveiled a new cocktail menu determined by its social media followers.

The Lawn Star cocktail combines basil Hendricks, silver Tequila, lime, elderflower and cucumber

Opened by social media channel @TwistedBar, the pop-up in Shoreditch features drinks selected according to the viewing preferences of its Instagram followers.

Twisted Bar, which posts cocktail recipe videos for its followers to create at home, has analysed its posts to uncover the most popular ingredients and types of drink across its profile. Mixologists then used this data to create the drinks list for the venue.

The Paradise Daiquiri mixes a “slushified” Strawberry Daiquiri with a Piña Colada.

According to the data, the most popular spirit is rum, earning over 60 million views across 25 videos. As a result, drinks on the menu include the Colour Changing Mojito, made from white rum, lime, sugar and a cosmic syrup; and the Rum Raisin Martini, which combines dark rum, Kahlua and espresso.

Twisted Bar found that the most popular cocktail among its audience is the Daiquiri, with over 45 million views across 10 videos. The bar has incorporated this into its menu by creating the Paradise Daiquiri Fishbowl, which is a combination of a “slushified” Strawberry Daiquiri and Piña Colada.

The Twisted Bar audience also showed an interest in dessert-based drinks, which inspired the Cookies & Cream White Russian – made from Oreo milk, vodka, Kahlua, vanilla syrup and chocolate.

Co-head and head of food at Twisted, Tom Jackson, said: “We’re excited to have another opportunity to take the Twisted brand offline. The cocktails we’ve created really reflect our audience’s preferences and what Twisted is all about; they’re off-beat, don’t take themselves too seriously and, of course, they’re delicious. We can’t wait for people to come to the bar and party with us.”

The bar will be open until 22 December and will be peppered with exclusive events, including live music from London-based DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.
