375 Park Avenue to distribute Pernod brands

US importer 375 Park Avenue Spirits has agreed numerous multi-year strategic partnerships with Pernod Ricard-owned brands.

Ballantine’s launched a range of single malts in September 2017

Effective from August, 375 Park Avenue Spirits, a division of Sazerac, is now the sole US importer of Chivas Brothers’ Ballantine’s, Passport and Something Special Scotch whiskies; Jan Becher’s Czech Republic-based Becherovka herbal liqueur; Pernod-Brasil’s Cachaça Janeiro label; Pernod SAS’s Soho Lychee liqueur from France; and Pernod Finland’s Minttu Peppermint liqueur.

The company will retain exclusive import rights to these brands in the US for the next five years.

In July, the group began distributing Corby Spirit & Wine’s JP Wiser’s Canadian whisky and Lamb’s rum brands in the US, which are also part of Pernod Ricard’s global portfolio.

The company will be the sole US importer for the next five years for the following brands: Ballantine’s, Passport and Something Special whiskies from Chivas Brothers; Becherovka Herbal Liqueur from Jan Becher; Cachaça Janeiro from Pernod-Brasil; Soho Lychee Liqueur from Pernod SAS; and Minttu Peppermint Liqueur from Pernod Finland.

375 Park Avenue Spirits will start transitioning the brands immediately, but will actively start selling the products from 1 September 2018.

Jason Schladenhauffen, who succeeded Norman Bonchik as chairman and CEO of 375 Park Avenue Spirits last month, said: “These agreements represent a watershed moment for our organisation.

“Almost all of these brands are category leaders in their home market or on the global stage.

“As such, we’ve been afforded a major opportunity as the new brand stewards to lead them into the next stage of their life cycles.”

Patrick Venning, global marketing director for Ballantine’s and Chivas Brothers’ primary Scotch portfolio, hailed the new agreement.

He said: “This new partnership will allow us to actively get our whisky into the hands of new drinkers and show what’s so exceptional about the category and these award-winning brands in particular.”

375 Park Avenue Spirits has also agreed exclusive distribution deals with JP Wiser’s Canadian whisky and Lamb’s rum in the US, which came into effect on 1 July.
