375 Park Avenue Spirits names Schladenhauffen CEO

US importer 375 Park Avenue Spirits has appointed current president and chief operating officer Jason Schladenhauffen to the position of chairman and CEO, succeeding Norman Bonchick.

President and chief operating officer Jason Schladenhauffen has been named CEO of 375 Park Avenue Spirits

Bonchick will retire from the firm on 1 August, but will continue working with the firm in a limited capacity as a consultant.

With 50 years of experience in the industry, Bonchick has previously worked at South Shore Liquors as president, and the National Distributing Company of South America where he held the position of managing director.

Bonchick joined Van Gogh Imports in 2004 as national sales manager, then progressed to president. He orchestrated a deal which saw the company change its name to 375 Park Avenue Spirits and become an independent sales firm within Sazerac.

This allowed 375 Park Avenue to benefit from the group’s “full array of resources and growing reach in a competitive market”.

He also helped to relaunch the Van Gogh Vodka brand in 2016.

“Norman’s influence on the industry throughout his storied career is unparalleled. The relationships he’s built as a result of his people-first approach will leave a legacy well beyond his years,” said Schladenhauffen, who joined the company in January 2017.

“His steady hand has ably guided this company for almost 15 years and I look forward to building on those many successes in the years ahead.”

Bonchick said he is most proud of “putting together a team of highly skilled and motivated people that has allowed the company to flourish”.

He added: “I didn’t want to just build a company. I wanted to build a family and one of the things I most look forward to in my retirement is keeping in touch with all the great people I’ve met along this journey.”

Based in South Florida, Bonchick plans to spend more time with his family and friends, travelling, and continuing his work with the United Community Options of South Florida.

In March this year, 375 Park Avenue Spirits restructured its sales division and created three new management positions in an effort to better support the firm’s “lofty growth ambitions”.
