Collagin latest brand to join pink gin movement

Collagin, which contains pure collagen, has become the latest brand to capitalise on the pink craze with the launch of a rose-flavoured gin.

Collagin Rose includes oil steam-distilled rose petals

Just 800 bottles of Collagin Rose have been produced, each created with the addition of oil steam-distilled rose petals.

Collagin co-founder, Camilla Brown, said: “The original Collagin has gone down a storm, so when people were begging us for a pink gin we decided to give them what they wanted.”

According to Brown, the gin remains “subtle and smooth” and will “appeal to gin lovers with a sweeter tooth”.

Collagin Rose uses 11 botanicals in its production, including pink grapefruit and orris, and is made with pure collagen.

It is now available from online retailer NotOnTheHighStreet and will launch with online grocery store Ocado in August.

Bottled at 40% abv, Collagin Rose carries an RRP of £36.99 (US$48) per 500ml bottle.

The pink gin trend has been gaining momentum throughout 2018, with the launch of pink products from Bacardi-owned Bosford, Pernod Ricard-owned Beefeater, Italy-based Malfy and Hoxton Spirits.

Last year, Collagin was reprimanded by industry watchdog the Portman Group for claiming to have “healthy and beauty benefits”.
