Heaven Hill to launch orange curaçao cask-finished Bourbon

Heaven Hill Distillery has revealed its 2018 limited edition Parker’s Heritage Collection bottling, which has been finished in orange curaçao barrels.

The expression is the 12th edition in the series and will be available in select markets from September.

Aged for seven to eight years initially, the Bourbon was then finished for four months in barrels that previously held French orange curaçao liqueur.

Bottled at 55% abv, the orange curaçao finish “complements the Bourbon without overpowering it”.

Created in memory of late Heaven Hill master distiller Emeritus Parker Beam, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2010, the last five editions of Parker’s Heritage Collection have raised more than US$1 million for ALS research and patient care through contributions made by Heaven Hill from each bottle purchased.

“This newest edition blends both Parker’s imprint, as the Bourbon was distilled by him several years ago, but also the imprint of our current master distiller, Denny Potter, who worked through countless samples to find the perfect balance of flavour and Bourbon,” said Susan Wahl, group product director at Heaven Hill Distillery.

“We are proud to continue offering the Parker’s Heritage Collection in his memory and continue to support ALS research and patient care efforts.”

Priced at US$89.99, Heaven Hill will donate a portion of the proceeds to the ALS Association.
