Our/Vodka expands to New York

Pernod Ricard-owned Our/Vodka is set to open the first legal distillery in Manhattan, New York, in almost 100 years – Our/New York.

Our/ New York is the sixth Our/Vodka microdistillery

Our/New York is the sixth subsidiary to join the Our/Vodka family of microdistilleries and will officially open its doors to the public on 25 May.

It joins existing Our/Vodka microdistilleries in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Detroit and Los Angeles. The next site is planned for Miami.

Our/New York will feature a combined public tasting room, bar and retail shop. The space will also be used as a gallery and event space. Visitors will be able to enjoy drinks at the distillery, tours and tastings.

Our/New York vodka follows the same recipe as the other Our/Vodka distilleries

The New York distillery will follow the same Our/Vodka recipe as its fellow sites, which is partly distilled, blended in small batches and hand-bottled at every microdistillery. It is made from corn and is said to be “smooth and fresh with a slight grain and fruity note”.

The vodka will be available in 375ml bottles in both on- and off-trade establishments.

Åsa Caap, Our/Vodka founder and CEO, said: “It’s been five years since I signed the lease for our space and since then we’ve worked day and night.

“Amongst other things, we’ve changed the zoning within Manhattan and received a code variance form the New York fire department.

“In total, we’ve had over 220 meetings with different authorities. As you can imagine, the team and I look forward to finally opening.”
