Diageo moves into bottled cocktail market
By Amy HopkinsDiageo has unveiled a new range of bottled whisky cocktails called Studebaker, which currently consists of Old Fashioned and Manhattan variants.
Studebaker is Diageo’s new brand of whisky-based bottled cocktailsThe range is inspired by cocktails served during Prohibition and uses Canadian whisky as its base spirit.
Studebaker Manhattan contains sweet vermouth and bitters in addition to Canadian whisky, while Studebaker Old Fashioned is made with cherry, orange and bitters.
“Whether hosting friends or cheering on your favorite team, Studebaker takes the guesswork and preparation out of developing these classic cocktails, allowing consumers to enjoy the perfect cocktail on any occasion,” said Diageo.
“With Studebaker Old Fashioned and Studebaker Manhattan, an expertly crafted whisky cocktail is just a pour away.”
The bottled cocktail market has been gaining traction in recent years. Earlier this year, World of Zing partnered with drinks consultancy firm Fluid Movement to launch the UK’s first aged and bottle cocktail range.
Meanwhile, Svedka Vodka owner Constellation Brands acquired a minority stake in Chicago bartender Charles Joly’s bottled cocktail range, Crafthouse Cocktails.
