Westland Distillery has launched two new American single malt whiskeys in the USThe Westland Peated American Single Malt Whiskey is the product of two new make spirits married together after maturation and aged in a variety of oak, including first-fill ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks to give a “multi-dimensional yet balanced” peated whiskey.
Meanwhile, the Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt Whiskey is aged in casks made from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks to give the whiskey malt and fruity notes “indicative of Westland’s house style”.
“Adding Sherry Wood and Peated expressions to our portfolio establishes Westland Distillery as the leader in this burgeoning movement of American single malt whiskey,” commented Emerson Lamb, president of Westland Distillery.
“Our ‘trinity’ symbolises our position as custodians of the single malt whiskey tradition, while at the same time progressive in quality, provenance and transparency.
“We are now one step closer to our ultimate goal of putting the state of Washington on the map as a world-class place to make single malt whiskey.”
Both expressions are bottled at 46% abv and are available from selected retailers in the US.
