Wemyss Malts unveils latest single cask whiskies

Whisky bottling company Wemyss Malts has launched its latest limited edition collection of single cask Scotch whiskies from across Scotland.

Wemyss Malts has launched a new range of single cask Scotch whiskies

The Edinburgh-based company used a tasting panel to select the casks in the range, under the leadership of famed whisky expert Charlie Maclean.

Each bottle in the six-strong range is named after its “natural taste and aroma”.

The collection includes a cask strength 1995 expression from Islay distillery Bowmore, called The Rockpool.

Also included in the collection are: the Foraged Fruit Fool, a 1991 single cask from Highland-based Blair Athol Distillery; Toffee Tuile, a 1999 single cask from Highland-based Aberfeldy Distillery; Kumquat Cluster, a 1993 single cask from Speyside’s Glenrothes Distillery; Stem Ginger Preserve, a 1995 single cask from Speyside-based Mortlach Distillery; and Rhubarb Royal, a 2001 single cask from Benrinnes Distillery, also based in Speyside.

“We’ve had an excellent start to 2015 and are already releasing our second parcel of single casks,” said William Wemyss, founder and managing director of Wemyss Malts.

“As always, the tasting panel has come up with names evocative of these whiskies’ natural tastes and aromas and I’m sure they will delight our customers.”

Wemyss Malts claims that a few hundred bottles of each expression will be available for between £60 and £120 in the UK, Europe and Asia.

Last December, Wemyss Malts signed a new import deal agreement with Palm Bay International in the US.
