Wemyss Malts lines up Palm Bay as US importer
By Becky PaskinScottish drinks producer Wemyss Malts has signed a new import agreement with Palm Bay International in the US.
Wemyss Malts’ whisky and gin portfolio, including Spice King, will be imported to the US through Palm Bay InternationalThe owner of Peat Chimney and Spice King Scotch whiskies believes the new agreement with Palm Bay will give the group “additional coverage” in the US.
William Wemyss, founder and managing director of Wemyss Malts, said: “The US is extremely important for us due to the rising interest in craft spirits, and we’re delighted to announce our agreement with Palm Bay International.”
The group also believes its clearly-named expressions, which communicate the aromas and tastes of the whiskies, will help US consumers more easily understand malt whisky terminology, which it claims can often by “difficult to decipher”.
Palm Bay will import Wemyss Malts’ blended and single malt portfolio, as well as Darnely’s View London dry gin.
