First Irish-American vodka launches in US
By Melita KielyThe O’Shevlin Importing Company has launched “the first” Irish-American vodka in the US – Bonn Óir Gold Medal Vodka.
Bonn Óir Gold Medal Vodka will be available in the US from FebruaryPronounced “bän ôr”, the handcrafted vodka’s recipe descends from an Irish family recipe passed down through three generations of the O’Shevlins, of County Armagh, Ireland.
“Vodka connoisseurs —whether Irish, or wishing they were Irish—will love this new standard set by Bonn Óir,” said Dan O’Shevlin, creator of Bonn Óir and grandson of Philip Joseph O’Shevlin II, the originator of the recipe.
“Not just with the vodka itself, but in the heritage, the pedigree and the passion—the spirit of the Irish—discovered within each bottle.”
Bottled at 40% abv, Bonn Óir Gold Medal Vodka is available in one litre, 750ml and 50ml bottles with an RRP of US$34.99 per 750ml.
Other products in the O’Shevlin portfolio include Bonn Óir Lite, a vodka with only 40 calories per serving, and Irish Fire, a vodka-based spirit infused with cinnamon and and rested in toasted oak barrels.
