Glenfiddich unveils permanent GTR range

William Grant & Sons’ Glenfiddich Distillery has redesigned its global travel retail (GTR) range, including a single malt finished in Port pipes.

The Voyager Collection is a new range of four exclusive single malt expressions created specifically for GTR.

The collection includes Warehouse Eight Solera, 12-year-old Rum Cask Finish, 15-year-old Sherry Cask Finish, and 18-year-old Port Cask Finish. Notably, the latter is the brand’s first expression finished in Port pipes.

Created by Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman, The Voyager Collection is said to honour key moments that have redefined single malt and continue to inspire its ongoing maturation.

“What makes this launch so special is the way it brings together different chapters of Glenfiddich in one curated collection,” he explained. “Each expression has its own personality, shaped by a distinctive maturation journey, yet all are united by the same spirit of curiosity and the craft of the invisible forces that shape a whisky over years.

“For travellers, it offers a rare opportunity to experience the breadth of Glenfiddich’s cask expertise.”

All four expressions are presented in Glenfiddich’s newly introduced refreshed design.

At the heart of the updated design is the stag, which has appeared on the bottle since the 1960s. The redesigned stag has been refined to better reflect the whisky’s character and is now framed by the distillery’s founding year, 1887.

Rufus Parkinson, regional managing director of GTR at William Grant & Sons, said: “Global travel retail is a unique space where brands can create desire, engage discerning travellers at a moment of discovery and leave a lasting impression well beyond the point of purchase. The Voyage Collection was developed with today’s shoppers in mind: distinctive, elevated and rooted in stories that invite exploration.

“As a permanent exclusive range, it not only strengthens Glenfiddich’s presence in the channel, but also signals a bold new expression of the brand for consumers around the world.”

The Voyager Collection

Warehouse Eight Solera is the only expression in the range without an age statement.

Inspired by the traditional Sherry-making process of Jerez, Spain, Glenfiddich’s Solera Vat method was first introduced in 1998. This process involves blending whiskies matured in Bourbon, Sherry, and red wine casks in a handcrafted oak vat that is never emptied. With each new batch, a portion of the previous batch is carried forward.

Bottled at 40% ABV, it offers aromas of summer blossom, vanilla toffee, and subtle oak. The palate displays additional notes of spice and ground pepper.

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Rum Cask Finish is said to marry Speyside elegance with tropical vibrancy, with aromas of fresh green fruit, vanilla, toasted oak, and delicate spice.

With an ABV of 43%, the palate features notes of barley sugar and crystallised honey.

Warehouse Eight Solera (£53/US$71) and Rum Cask Finish (£60/US$80) are available only in a 1-litre format.

The 15 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish, bottled at 43% ABV, stands as a tribute to more than a century of Sherry influence at Glenfiddich.

Its nose offers aromas of ripe red apple, butterscotch, woody spice, dried fruit, sun-dried raisins and freshly ground nutmeg, followed on the palate by notes of oak, tannin and sweet spice.

The first Glenfiddich ever finished in Port pipes, 18 Year Old Port Cask Finish, is bottled at 43% ABV.

On the nose, the whisky offers aromas of sticky raspberry jam, toffee apple and toasted almonds. The palate evolves with layers of fruit, oak and spice.

Both the 15-year-old (£70/US$94) and 18-year-old (£100/US$134) single malts are available exclusively in 700ml bottles.

Glenfiddich The Voyager Collection is exclusively available at major international airports.
