Tarquin’s Chilli Mango Gin taps into ‘swicy’ trend

Cornish producer Tarquin’s Gin has released a chilli and mango-flavoured 2026 summer edition, voted by more than 4,500 fans as the flavour of the season.

The ‘swicy’ (sweet and spicy) gin is infused with mango, fresh lime juice, and Jamaican yellow chillies, sourced from Cornish Chillies’ farm.

Owned by Scott and Sue Hall, the farm grows more than 50 chilli varieties. Jamaican yellow chillies were chosen for the limited release by Tarquin’s for their ‘slow-building, warming heat that doesn’t overpower’.

Tarquin Leadbetter, founder and master distiller of Tarquin’s Gin, said: “Working with Scott and Sue at Cornish Chillies has been a joy. Their chillies are exceptional. Sustainably grown, locally produced, and packed with flavour. This collaboration is exactly the kind of rooted, community-driven craft we stand for.”

Made in small batches at Tarquin’s Distillery HQ in Cornwall, the Chilli Mango Gin is described as a love letter to the Mango Margarita.

Tarquin’s signature serve, The Mango Marg, combines the new gin with mango juice, triple sec and fresh lime juice, and is garnished with fresh jalapeño slices.

The release marks the culmination of a nationwide UK public vote in which more than 4,500 gin enthusiasts chose Chilli Mango as their flavour of the summer.

“More than 4,500 of our community voted for this one, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to share it,” explained Leadbetter. “It’s summer in a bottle. Sweet, juicy mango, a hit of fresh lime, and a warmth that builds slowly and beautifully.”

“We spotted a real shift in what consumers are after. That ‘swicy’ combination of sweet and spicy is everywhere right now. The data backs it up: 53% of Gen Z say they enjoy ‘swicy’ heat in their food and drink.

“We put it to our community, and they confirmed it. Chilli Mango was the clear winner by a mile, with more than 4,500 votes. The demand was already there. We just bottled it.”

The Chilli Mango Gin follows last year’s limited summer release, Tarquin’s Mexican Zest & Salt Gin, which sold out five times during the summer of 2025.

Consumer demand has already exceeded the producer’s expectations: the gin sold out online within 10 days of launching, but it is now back in stock, retailing for £39.95 (US$48).

It is available on the brand’s website and Tarquin’s Gin Shops in Cornwall and Devon. A limited amount can also be found at specialist retailers in the UK.

Earlier this month, Tarquin’s embraced the Spritz trend by launching Connie Glaze Passion Fruit Vodka Liqueur.

Earlier this year, Tarquin’s Spirits launched a crowdfunding round, raising nearly £870,000 (US$1.17m) in two weeks.
