Ron Matusalem master blender tours nine cities
By Miona MadsenCuban rum Ron Matusalem’s master blender, Cynthia Vargas, is set to travel to cities across Europe and Asia to strengthen the brand’s positioning in both markets.

The third edition of the Master Blender Tour will visit nine capital cities: seven in May across Europe and two in June in Japan.
The cities have been chosen for their status as cultural and gastronomic epicentres, as Ron Matusalem hopes to expand its reach and strengthen its presence, while sharing knowledge.
The unique rum experience, led by Vargas, targets industry professionals, including bartenders, chefs and sommeliers.
Starting today (18 May), the tour will first stop in Riga, Latvia, then in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 20 May, and in Luxembourg on 21 May.
Following the first legs, Vargas will then host two masterclasses in Italy: Rome on 25 May and Milan on 26 May.
The last stops in Europe are Paris, France, on 27 May and Barcelona, Spain, on 28 May.
The tour ends with two stops in Japan, Tokyo on 23 and Osaka on 24 June.
Central to this year’s tour is the brand’s Enigma Range, described as encompassing Matusalem’s most sophisticated expressions and a ‘true symbol of its mastery of wood’.
The Enigma Range is characterised by the use of French oak, a type of wood that Matusalem notes is still largely unexplored in many of the markets the tour will visit. The brand also believes that in several of the capital cities on the tour, many professionals will encounter the unique organoleptic profile for the first time.
The Master Blender Tour aims to serve as a global platform where tradition, innovation, and education intersect, enabling the brand to share its legacy and to guide the conversation about the future of premium rum.
Last year, the second edition of the tour visited 13 capital cities in Europe and Asia, including Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Bangkok.
