Located in the town of Kamenz, in Saxony, Germany, the new project aims to ‘future-proof’ barrel storage for the herbal liqueur brand, ensuring its efficiency for the long term.

The 5,000-square-foot facility provides capacity for up to 225 additional barrels.

“We are deliberately investing in our production base,” said Michael Volke, CEO of Mast-Jägermeister. “The new barrel storage strengthens the quality and resilience of our supply chain and creates the conditions for continued growth from within.”

The facility has also been designed to ensure efficient use of energy and resources. The building was constructed mainly with timber and has been equipped with ‘innovative’ technologies, including a photovoltaic system and a rainwater management setup.

Mast-Jägermeister also operates its headquarters, visitor centre and a production facility in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony.

Florian Rehm, chairman of the supervisory board and majority shareholder of Mast-Jägermeister, added: “As a family-owned company, we think in generations. Our ambition is to combine economic growth with ecological responsibility. That is why we invest where we see long-term perspectives. The new barrel storage is another clear commitment to Kamenz as a production site.”

This construction project is one of the herbal liqueur maker’s largest investments in recent years.

Last June, Mast-Jägermeister spent €6.7m (US$7.7m) on expanding production at its Wolfenbüttel site.

The business reported a positive sales performance for 2025, growing in both volume and value.

Mast-Jägermeister’s portfolio also includes Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Teremana Tequila, which it partly owns. The company is the global distributor for the brand, which entered 20 new markets in 2025.

In addition, Mast-Jägermeister has a stake in Hamburg-based Gin Sul.
